A heartening and intimate book launch last night at The Arts House in Bristol. There were stunning readings from poets Sarer Scotthorne & Sam Berkson.
It was really good to see the experimental film by John Smith & Jocelyn Pook, Blight, before I read some poetry from Place Waste Dissent.
Big thanks to all who came, to the publishers Kit & Gary (Influx Press) and to Antonia for the great venue. It was also brilliant to catch up with some old friends from the No M11 Link Road campaign, dissenting stalwarts of the Claremont Road protests, including film-maker, photographer and contributor to the book, Julia Guest. There is a London launch of Place Waste Dissent at Brick Lane Bookshop on Dec 5. It’s free and there’ll be readings starting at 7.30 from Sarer, Lucy Furlong, George F. and Paul. Straight afterwards it’s the Influx Press Xmas drinks party. Hope to see you there.
